Customer Feedback

Thank you for all you help – not possible without your patience. I now have a website being complimented by cooks all around me, comments already coming in on day one ... I have already had ‘it’s great, easy to use’.

CindyWebster,  Owner, Cindy Webster Cooks

Steve has done a great job to improve my website. He is very thorough and sorts out things which are not straightforward. The CMS is easy to use, the site manual very comprehensive, and further advice and support is always available by phone or email.

Nicola Bell, Owner Nicola Bell and Cultural Heritage Works

Customer service and quality of work was excellent. Working across time zones provided me with a full day to make alterations and email at the end of the day knowing when I awoke the website would be up to date. A very professional and efficient service and would highly recommend.

Jo Birnie, Owner/Principal Consultant, Prestantia Consulting and Prestantia Recruitment, New Zealand.

(The site's owner had previous painful experiences of working with web designers and builders. She was not looking forward to rebuilding her site. Fortunately she bumped into me - the experience of building her new site with me was a pleasant surprise. She was very pleased with the overall approach and the result. A satisfied customer.)

We had an enquiry recently from someone who was doing a feasibility study about opening a visitor centre near Alston and was ringing me because we had such a good website!! So compliments to you.

JP, Owner Stonecrop Holiday Cottage

Excellent service, exactly what we wanted and when we wanted it, many thanks Steve

Julie, Organiser Wool on the Wall

Privacy Policy and Cookies

Privacy Policy

The information below covers our policies regarding Cookie on this site. We do not collect any personal information at all about you on this site except for the following:

  • If you tick the box on the contact form giving us permission to retain and use your email address to contact you from time to time. We will never provide this email address to a third party.

Use of cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They cannot be used to identify you personally.

They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Cookies are just harmless files. Cookies cannot look into information stored on your hard-drive. It is technically impossible for cookies to read personal information. Cookies can only store data that is provided by the server or generated by an explicit user action.

Can cookies be used to run programs and deliver viruses on your PC? No. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or to deliver viruses to your computer.

You may delete cookies or prevent them being created and it should not impact your use of this site.

We only use two types of cookie on this site. One is a Session cookie. Session cookies ("non-persistent cookie") are cookies that only exist as long as your session on the web site lasts and expires as soon as you leave the website. The primary purpose of session cookies is to help with navigation, such as by indicating whether or not you've already visited a particular page and retaining information about your preferences once you've visited a page. Session cookies can help speed up the time to load a page. So session cookies are used to facilitate your activities within that site. A web browser normally deletes session cookies when it quits.

We also use a Persistent cookie. A persistent cookie will outlast user sessions. If a persistent cookie has its Max-Age set to 1 year, then, within the year, the initial value set in that cookie would be sent back to the server every time the user visited the server. This could be used to record a piece of information such as how the user views this website (font size and contrast themes for example).

The table below describes this sites use of cookies and their type. Where cookies are persistent the duration of that cookie is provided.

One cookie is essential and used to prevent repeatedly asking the user if they accept site cookies!

Cookie Type Duration Purpose More information
PHPSESSID  Session Lasts until the browser window closes. Records the session id and is set by the Content Management System to ensure all accesses on all pages are from the same user. Partly used for security therefore. Also once you have logged on with a username and password (if you have such an account), you don’t have to do it for every Web page you request from our site. Until the Content Management System is changed (and it may not) this cookie is regarded as essential.
TVCRPuac Session or Persistent 0 or 365 days This cookie is used to record if a user has accepted the use of cookies or not on the website. Until the user makes a selection the user will always be presented with the choice to select cookies or not on this site. Essential: This cookie is set unless the user deletes it via the browser or the browser does not permit cookies. It is used for the convenience of the user to prevent having to ask the question about whether the user accepts site cookies or not each time they visit a new page or revisit the site.
The user may select whether this cookie is persistent or only for the duration of the session.
TVCRPstyle Persistent * 365 days Records whether the user has selected a high contrast visibility style for the page or uses the default view. Only set if the user accepts cookies on the site. * Persistent only if the user accepts cookies on the site - otherwise never set.
TVCRPfS Persistent   365 days Records any font size changes the user makes to the site. Only set if the user accepts cookies on the site. * Persistent only if the user accepts cookies on the site - otherwise never set.
